Meet Our Team

Dr. Buresh, an Iowa native, earned her bachelor's degree in science from Iowa State University. She then pursued her doctorate in optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Buresh has been an active member of the American Optometric Association and Utah Optometric Association since 2003.

Recognized as the "Young Optometrist of the Year" by the Utah Optometric Association in 2007, she has held various leadership roles, including board member of the UOA and state leader for the AOA’s InfantSEE program. Committed to humanitarian efforts, Dr. Buresh has volunteered with Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity, providing free exams and glasses in Belize, Costa Rica, and Paraguay. She has also served on the Special Olympics Utah Board for six years, focusing on providing free eye care to Special Olympic athletes.

Specializing in neuro-optometry, Dr. Buresh helps patients recovering from neurological disruptions such as concussions, TBIs, or strokes. She is dedicated to restoring the eye-brain pathway through vision rehabilitation, optical lens correction, photo light therapy, and yoga therapy. Additionally, she specializes in ocular surface disease and dry eye treatments, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools like the Oculus 5M Keratograph to personalize treatment plans for each patient.
 Outside the clinic, Dr. Buresh enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children. Her hobbies include snow skiing, scuba diving, yoga, and traveling.

Dr. Kaeleen Franson, originally from Nebraska, completed her Bachelor's degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before pursuing her Doctor of Optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. During her optometry training, she specialized in glaucoma and ocular disease, contact lenses, and pediatrics through various rotations. Actively engaged in her community, Dr. Franson was a member of the local Lions Club Chapter and the Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity student chapter, where she provided optometric healthcare to underserved populations in the United States and Mexico. She maintains a lifelong dedication to improving access to eyeglasses and healthcare and has volunteered at numerous community health events.

Dr. Franson's clinical interests lie in treating dry eye and other ocular surface diseases. She remains an active member of both the Utah Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Franson enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and dog, participating in various activities.

Dr. Lauren Stephens hails from Iowa and completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry from Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Stephens has received extensive training in ocular disease, contact lenses, binocular vision, and pediatrics. Actively involved in Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity, she journeyed to Peru to offer free eye care to underserved communities. Dr. Stephens eagerly anticipates contributing to visual screenings and eye exams for children, both locally in Utah and globally.

Dr. Stephens is particularly focused on treating and managing ocular disease and binocular vision. She possesses a special fondness for addressing binocular vision issues in school-aged children and delights in their presence at the eye clinic. With a calm and playful demeanor, Dr. Stephens is adept at connecting with young patients, making her an ideal eye doctor for children. During her leisure time, Dr. Stephens enjoys hiking, skiing, and avidly following Creighton Bluejay basketball – go Jays!

Dr. Joanne Chan, originally from southern California, obtained her Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Riverside. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from Marshall B. Ketchum University, SCCO in Fullerton, CA. Dr. Chan completed her primary care/cornea and contact lens residency at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs in Salt Lake City, UT. Her expertise lies in fitting contact lenses for irregular corneas and anterior segment conditions, with extensive training in various lens types including rigid gas permeable, scleral, hybrid, and custom soft lenses.

During her undergraduate years, Dr. Chan co-founded The Literacy Initiative, aiming to enhance children's literacy rates in Riverside through book access and tutoring. Throughout her optometry schooling, she volunteered with Special Olympics Healthy Athletes, providing visual screenings and eyeglasses, and contributed to VN Hope Mission, delivering free eye exams in Vietnam. She also dedicated time to the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic, offering free eye exams and glasses to underserved communities in Los Angeles County.

Dr. Chan's passion lies in restoring vision in patients with irregular corneas and anterior surface diseases using specialty contact lenses. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Utah Optometric Association, and Asian American Optometric Society. In her leisure, Dr. Chan enjoys hiking, camping in Utah's scenic landscapes, and cherishing moments with her husband and two pug dogs.
